Welcome to the website of the
Tywardreath Garden Club

Tywardreath is a small hilltop village in southern Cornwall about 3 miles (4.8 km) north west of Fowey. It is located on the Saint’s Way trail in a sheltered spot overlooking an estuary opposite Par and near the beach of Par Sands.

The Tywardreath Garden Club was set up to promote a love of gardens, plants and gardening in a friendly social environment; you do not have to have a garden or know anything about plants to join us! We meet on the last Thursday of the month from January to May and September to October at Tywardreath Methodist Chapel, Well Street, Tywardreath. We have guest speakers at every meeting plus a raffle and tea/coffee

Members also benefit from a range of discounts at nurseries and gardens

If you are interested then why not just come along to one of our meetings or get in touch through our Contacts page

New members and visitors are always very welcome

Tywardreath in Bloom
In 2012 Tywardreath and Par won an award from Cornwall in Bloom.
The Butter Market planting was a part of the award and this area is
now maintained by volunteers

The perennial plants in the 3 green planters are weeded, watered and
dead headed by volunteers for approximately 1 hour every week.
Four volunteers also organised an autumn  clean-up and planted the following
Daffodils in the back wall “February Gold” and “Tete a Tete”, Tulips “Rockery Mix”
and yellow Crocuses under the tree and in the back beds, so look out for some new colour
from January to April/May.
We are restricted as to what can be planted in the back wall beds as they are North facing
and the soil is shallow; in addition the wall behind is listed.
If you would like to volunteer to help out now and again next Spring to Autumn in the
Butter Market or other areas in the village please contact us through this website or our Facebook page
